West Midlands MEP Liz Lynne has warned the new owners of Coventry Airport, TUI-owners of Thomson-fly.com, that the difficult questions will not simply go away over plans to use the Airport for passenger flights.

The Liberal Democrat MEP Said:

"I am pleased that the new owners have said they will speak to local residents, as a priority, to listen to their concerns. Maybe only then will they fully understand the major problems people near the airport have with their plans for the airport. These plans will damage the local environment and cause massive disruption for everyone in the area.

"Coventry Airport have consistently failed to address the concerns of local residents, namely the problem with the increased number of night flights, and the safety implications of the overlapping flight path with Birmingham Airport. Maybe now we will get answers to these questions and others that have been asked over several months but not addressed by the previous owners."
